Citing authorized prices related to a brand new unionization effort, the proprietor of small Philadelphia-based specialty espresso chain OCF Espresso Home introduced the closure of all three areas.

A body of workers from OCF Espresso Home despatched a letter to OCF Espresso Home Proprietor Ori Feibush on June 3 asking for voluntary recognition of the union, in keeping with a Philadelphia Enquirer report.

The trouble was supported by Native 80, a neighborhood union department of Philadelphia Staff United that has been energetic in organizing employees at espresso outlets within the Philadelphia market over the previous two years.

“We the employees of OCF have demanded recognition of our union from CEO Ori Feibush,” Native 80 wrote on OCF employees’ behalf on Instagram. “In the present day we stand robust collectively ready to combat for our voice at work. Keep tuned as we put together for subsequent steps!!”

One week later, the OCF management introduced the approaching closure of the 13-year-old espresso store enterprise, saying it had been working at a loss.
