A Letter From Suzanne Girdner — The Filth

Organizational Restructuring
This summer season, as a consequence of inside and exterior monetary pressures and the conclusion of a number of main grants, Georgia Organics made the troublesome resolution to considerably restructure the group. This meant parting with a number of long-serving group members who’ve been instrumental in our success. I’m profoundly grateful to those proficient people who’ve given a lot of themselves to advance our mission and to serve you. Their contributions strengthened Georgia Organics and the farmers and communities we serve.

Although now a group of 5, we’re devoted to creating this reorganization significant—supporting the group and farmers alike by this time of change.

Management Transition
As a part of this restructuring, the Georgia Organics Board of Administrators appointed me as Interim Govt Director. As a long-time worker of the group and most just lately the Director of Packages, I hope to convey a gentle hand, a collaborative mindset, and mission-driven management to the group. I’m captivated with serving to farmers thrive by collective motion and care. With deep roots in Georgia’s meals neighborhood, I’m devoted to guiding the group by this transition and into our subsequent chapter.  I’m holding this place on an interim foundation, and the Board is engaged on a long-term management plan to roll out in 2026.

Program Transitions
As we transfer to a leaner construction, we’re reorganizing our workers to give attention to Georgia Organics’ core mission of investing in natural farmers for the well being of our communities and the land. We’re taking inventory of our sources and our communities’ must see how they greatest match collectively. With this refocus comes the necessity to pull again from a few of our present packages. So, by the top of 2025, we plan to pause 4 long-running programmatic initiatives whereas we strengthen our foundations:

I do know that these packages have touched hundreds of lives–and remarkably, within the case of Farm to Faculty and Early Care, hundreds of thousands of Georgia’s youth. I’m assured every initiative has left an enduring affect throughout Georgia’s farming and meals communities that may stay on by our community of companions. This pause is just a mirrored image of our diminished capability in the meanwhile. And the aim that animated these packages, to champion natural and sustainable farming, will proceed to information our efforts over the approaching years as we adapt and develop.

Wanting Ahead
Change is rarely simple, but it surely brings the possibility to resume and refocus. Georgia Organics stays deeply dedicated to supporting and championing natural, sustainable, and regenerative farmers. Within the months forward, we’ll share extra about how we’re shaping the group’s future—with resilience, sustainability, and neighborhood on the middle.

Your assist makes this potential. Due to you, we will present farmers with local weather catastrophe aid grants, infrastructure mini-grants, enterprise teaching, natural transition help and certification cost-shares, healthcare protection, and threat administration sources. Thanks for standing with us throughout this season of transition.

With gratitude,
Suzanne Girdner
