Fairtrade Worldwide Names Lisa Prassack CEO, Revises Govt ModelDaily Espresso Information by Roast Journal

Bonn, Germany-based Fairtrade Worldwide this week introduced the appointment of longtime company sustainability advisor Lisa Prassack as its new chief government officer.

The nonprofit group, which owns the Fairtrade sustainability certification mark and collaborates with in-country Fairtrade organizations everywhere in the world, stated that the CEO appointment follows the implementation of a brand new “single management mannequin.”

Prassack, who’s from the US, is succeeding Melissa Duncan, who has served as managing director of Fairtrade Worldwide since December. Within the CEO place, Prassack additionally succeeds Sandra Uwera, who was appointed CEO in 2022. The group has not outlined the phrases of Uwera’s departure.

Prassack joins the group from her personal advisory agency and consultancy, Denver-based Prassack Advisors, which gives market intelligence and digital methods to shoppers throughout the agriculture and meals manufacturing markets. In keeping with Fairtrade Worldwide, Prassack has labored with shoppers together with Bayer, Bosch, BP, Danone, Dole, Eurofins, Manulife, Nutrien, The Nature Conservancy and Dealer Joe’s.

Fairtrade Worldwide says its mark exists on greater than 30,000 merchandise, coming from some three million farmers, whereas espresso stays a key product class. As of 2022, there have been 624 espresso producer organizations holding Fairtrade certification, producing greater than 700,000 metric tons of Fairtrade-certified espresso.
