In 2024, the place many cafeteria meals are heat-and-serve, Alisha seen there may be often a missed connection between college students’ understanding of the place their meals comes from and the appreciation of the onerous work that goes into placing meals on the desk, beginning with the farmers. Alisha determined to develop the Meals Miles Undertaking, which provided college students a possibility to go to native farms. These college students got behind-the-scenes excursions of farm operations for them to study meals manufacturing and careers associated to agriculture and enhance their publicity to domestically grown commodities.
Alisha held an utility course of for college students to use for this system in the event that they had been enthusiastic about studying extra about agriculture and farm-to-table.
