Salt and Pepper Shrimp – Kawaling Pinoy

Substances

  • 2 kilos massive shrimp, head-on and shell-on
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • oil
  • 1 head garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 jalapenos, minimize into skinny slices
  • ½ cup inexperienced onions, chopped

Directions

  • Trim tendrils and claws off shrimp and rinse underneath chilly operating water. Drain nicely and pat dry.

  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, ½ of the pepper, and ½ of the salt. Dredge shrimp in flour combination till coated.

  • In a large, deep pan over medium warmth, warmth about 2 inches oil to about 350 F. Add shrimp in batches and prepare dinner for about 2 to three minutes or till crisp and shade adjustments.

  • Take away shrimp from the pan and drain on a colander. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the frying oil.

  • In a large skillet over excessive warmth, add the two tablespoons reserved oil and warmth till scorching. Add garlic, jalapenos, and inexperienced onions and saute for about 30 to 40 seconds or till fragrant.

  • Add deep-fried shrimp, the remaining ½ of the salt and ½ of the pepper. Toss for about 20 to 30 seconds till nicely distributed. Serve scorching.

Notes

Drain the shrimp nicely, and pat dry so the coating adheres nicely.
