The extra issues change… | The Recent Loaf


the extra they, oh pooh, neglect about that.

 

Let’s see if I can write this in beneath 300 phrases.

  • Energetic member on TFL for ~10 years.  Receded into the woodwork 2-3 years in the past.

– Bought our condominium in Could 2025, freely giving my beloved granite baking deck and saying sayonara to my double oven.

– Moved in June into an Airbnb for five months, purchased a baking metal that match the oven, and relearned, only a bit, easy methods to bake in that oven on metal as an alternative of stone.

– Drifted from Airbnb to Airbnb virtually weekly for one more 6 weeks and deserted baking altogether throughout this transition.

– Dried my 13 yr previous levain into flakes and packed them into 5 separate baggies at 100g every, inserting every into a special journey bag.

– Packed up the metal, couche, razor blades, Pullman Pan…  

– Moved to Spain, fulfilling a >20 yr dream

– Nearly instantly reconstituted my flakes, and now needed to be taught to make use of new flours, new water, the flora within the air, smaller European oven…

– Nonetheless getting the cling of it

And now nonetheless figuring it out within the smaller oven from our new residence.  Extra work to do!
